The Community Land Trust Model
Sawmill Community Land Trust is a nonprofit membership organization that owns and holds land “in trust” for the benefit of the community while preserving the affordability of the housing on the land permanently. All the while, homeowners on the land trust enjoy essential benefits of ownership: lifetime security, a reasonable rate of return on their investment and a legacy for their descendents.
