SCLT Walking Tours:
Come Visit SCLT!

We want to invite you to come visit the Sawmill Community Land Trust (SCLT) and take part in a 60-minute walking tour. In this tour, you will discover all the good things that are happening in building this great community: the homes, the Abolera de Vida Plaza, the Lofts, the children's playground, and the plans for the future that our local leadership is working on.

The SCLT tour will introduce you to the concept of a community land trust, how it develops and preserves affordable homeownership, the history of how the community land trust came about, and what all is possible under the structure of a community land trust. And, most important, the tour provides you an opportunity to hear some of the stories directly from residents of how the SCLT has changed their lives as they have become homeowners and stakeholders in the community land trust.

Nationwide there are about 240 active community land trusts. The Sawmill Community Land Trust is one of the most successful community land trusts in the country in terms of number of homes built, and implementation of other aspects such as community parks, community services, and neighborhood celebrations.

We will be conducting the 60-minute walking tours twice a month. The capacity for each tour is limited to 10 guests at a time, so please call us in advance to sign-up to attend a tour. To sign-up for a tour, please call Joe Martinez at Sawmill Community Land Trust - 764 0359.
