People We Serve
According to a City of Albuquerque Workforce Housing Study, 39% of the area’s employees earn 80%, or below, the AMI. These are hardworking people who are doing what they can to build better futures. However, housing for this group is often substandard in quality, too crowded or too expensive (or a combination of the three). Sawmill Community Land Trust is working help bridge the gap between quality housing and affordability by providing energy efficient, attractive housing set within a revitalized neighborhood that caterers, teachers, city employees, mechanics and retirees can afford and feel proud of.
